Carbon Reduction Plan

Our Road to Net Zero

How Taxis Ltd t/a Ride Taxis is measuring, reporting, and cutting the carbon footprint of our fleet — in line with PPN 06/21.

Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Taxis Ltd t/a Ride Taxis is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045, as highlighted within our Net Zero Statement.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past, prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. They are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2025. Taxis Ltd t/a Ride Taxis have a fleet of 400+ cars delivering taxi services across the United Kingdom. The emissions data has been calculated via a taxi driver's emissions average and for a small office base.

Baseline year emissions, 2025
EmissionsTotal (tCO₂e)
Scope 10 tCO₂e
Scope 215 tCO₂e
Scope 3 (Included Sources)1,950.16 tCO₂e (fleet of 400+ self-employed taxi drivers' emissions per year)
Total Emissions1,965.16 tCO₂e

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2025. As 2025 is our baseline year, current reported emissions match the baseline figures.

Current reported emissions, 2025
EmissionsTotal (tCO₂e)
Scope 10 tCO₂e
Scope 215 tCO₂e
Scope 3 (Included Sources)1,950.16 tCO₂e (fleet of 400+ self-employed taxi drivers' emissions per year)
Total Emissions1,965.16 tCO₂e

Emissions Reduction Targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 1,179.096 tCO₂e by 2030 — a reduction of 40%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

As this is our first Carbon Reduction Plan, we do not have reduction percentage figures from environmental management measures and projects completed or implemented since the baseline calculations were recorded. However, we will calculate the carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes throughout our future performance.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Transitioning our entire vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric vehicles by 2030 through a structured vehicle replacement programme.
  • Utilising only Euro 6 diesel and hybrid vehicles in the delivery of our services, with vehicles clearly identified and appropriately marked to confirm compliance with this requirement.
  • Ongoing compliance with Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) and Clean Air Zone requirements when operating in major cities.
  • All newly licensed vehicles joining the fleet are either hybrid or fully electric, encouraging our drivers to adopt low emission driving practices through our internal Driver Efficiency training.
  • Prioritising low and zero-emission vehicles wherever operationally viable, ensuring a year-on-year reduction in emissions. Vehicles are maintained according to strict service schedules to ensure optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and longevity.
  • Utilising dispatch systems to actively reduce carbon emissions and improve our environmental performance through real-time tracking of vehicle locations, mileage and fuel usage to monitor and report emissions data accurately. This will reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions.
  • Approved maintenance providers implement appropriate waste management controls, including the responsible disposal of oils, fluids, and hazardous materials, thereby reducing environmental impact.
  • Office operations have been consolidated into a more energy-efficient open-plan workspace, supported by low-wattage lighting and efficient heating and cooling systems.
  • The strategic location of premises outside the city centre enables more efficient dispatch and reduces congestion-related emissions.
  • Utilisation of 100% paperless systems and provision of digital invoicing.
  • Wherever possible, we recycle to ensure 0% usage of landfill sites.
